The House of Ala

Let all that you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14

The center of the house

The Table

We sit down and walk through what matters, in order. God is the foundation. Everything else is arranged from there.

The legs are equal in structure and responsibility, but not equal in priority. Each carries weight. The table falls without any one of them. Yet they are ordered.

  1. God, the Foundation

The floor the whole table stands on. Unless the Lord builds the house, there is nothing here at all.

    Psalm 127:1 · 1 Corinthians 3:11
  2. Self and Spouse

The first leg. Two lives, one flesh, the first bond everything else is built on.

    Genesis 2:24
  3. Children

Next. Teach them when you sit at home, when you walk, when you rise and when you lie down.

    Deuteronomy 6:7
  4. Community

Then the people we carry. Do good to everyone, and especially to the household of faith.

    Galatians 6:10
  5. Work

The last leg. Whatever you do, do it with your whole heart, as for the Lord. Means, never master.

    Colossians 3:23
  6. The Holy Spirit, the Apron

He wraps every leg and binds them into one. The Helper, close around the house.

    John 14:26
  7. The Tabletop

Where fruit is borne and the world is served. Abide, and the table carries love, joy, and peace.

    John 15:5 · Galatians 5:22

What we hold

Our Core ValuesSHALOM

God's peace and wholeness over our home.

  1. Stewardship

We manage the Lord's gifts with gratitude and excellence, keep margin, and sow them to multiply.

Good stewards of God's varied grace.

    1 Peter 4:10

    Opposite Squandering

We hold every gift with open hands. What heaven entrusts, we carry until it multiplies.

  2. Haven

We build a haven of God's peace, the place and circle we gather and guard.

The peace of God will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

    Philippians 4:7

    Opposite Chaos

We build a haven. Our home and table are open, our church and chosen family are held close, and the peace of Christ guards what we gather.

  3. Altar

We put God first above everything, and we let His Word lead.

Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.

    Matthew 6:33

    Opposite Self-reliance

We put God first. We seek His Kingdom above everything, and His Word has the final say.

  4. Love

We treat every person with kindness, encouragement, truth in love, and honor.

Let all that you do be done in love.

    1 Corinthians 16:14

    Opposite Harshness

We love each person, and we keep every relationship that way.

  5. Ownership

We live with integrity, keep our word, and take full responsibility to make things right.

Faithful in a very little is also faithful in much.

    Luke 16:10

    Opposite Blame

We own it. We confess quickly, and we lead the way.

  6. Mettle

We are the anvil, not the hammer. Pressure shapes us, and we hold firm under every blow.

The testing of your faith produces steadfastness.

    James 1:2 to 4

    Opposite Complacency

We have mettle. When the fire comes, we stand, we grow, and we refuse to settle.

Legacy

Six lanes, one legacy.

Declaration

Declaration statement

Six lanes, one legacy. We are the Ala house, a home of shalom built on an altar. What the Lord plants in us, we will pass on, so that every generation bearing the Ala name knows His love, carries His peace, and multiplies His Kingdom.

One generation shall commend your works to another. Psalm 145:4
